In this expeditions we go to the Jaú National Park (world's larggest equatorial forest reserve). We will be tree climbing, swimming, hiking in the forest, connoeing, visiting a indigenous community and watch it's ritual dances and we will also visit a community of "ribeirinhos" (river people).

Program Summary

Day 1
We depart from the Tropical Hotel pier, in Manaus, at 8 o’clock and travel two (2) hour in a
riverboat to an indigenous community located at “Praia do Tupe” (Tupé Beach). Here we will enjoy a show of their ritual dances. After lunch on the boat we will travel several hours to the town of Novo Airão, passiong through the famous Anavilhanas Archipelago. Overnight on the boat.

Day 2
After breakfast we will go swimming with some pink river dolphins. After lunch we will hike in the rainforest and visit the “Caverna da Madada” (Madadá’s Cave). Overnight on the boat.

Day 3
In the morning we will sail farther up the Negro River to Jaú National Park (the largest rainforest parks in the world). After lunch we will climb a giant Samaúma tree (max. 70 meters / 230 ft.).

Day 4
Today we will explore Jaú National Park, which is named after one of Brazil’s biggest fish. At Jaú we will canoe through the “igarapés” (small creeks). We will also visit a community of “caboclos” (local river people), to observe how they live and interact with the amazonian environment. Overnight on the boat.

Day 5
After the breakfast we will go tree climbing again – a Samaúma with a beautiful view of the Negro River and Anavilhanas Archipelago. After the climb we will return to the boat for lunch and head back down the Negro River. Overnight on the boat at the Aturiá River.

Day 6
In the morning we will explore the Aturiá River and its igarapés by canoe. After lunch we will
continue sailing down the Negro River stopping at several white sand beaches for a swim.
Overnight on the boat.

Day 7
On the last day of our expedition we will go fishing in the morning. After lunch on the boat we will head back to Manaus and on the way visit a recreated 19th century rubber plantation, now a local museum.

General Information
Included: All meals, accommodation in double cabins with air-conditioning, multilingual guide (english – portuguese – spanish), all equipment necessary for tree climbing and other activities mentioned in the program.
Boat description: 3 floor regional riverboat, with livingroom, 3 double cabins, 2 bathrooms,
kitchen, space for hammocks and sundeck.
