The National park is locate 408kms from Salvador in the center of Bahia State, the main gateway city is Lençois, town that is a historical monument and a colonial gem, was founded during diamond period in 1844 and still keeps its mining (Garimpeiros) style. To reach Lençois by land (only for private program)  is a long way by car, but amenized by visits on the way, such as: Reconcavo Baiano and its colonial cities of Santo Amaro, Cachoeira & São Felix... also the trip by land is a great opportunity to know and see part of the sertões – Caatinga, an  endemic Brazilian ecosystem with a rare and exotic vegetation.

Best time to go: Rainy period is December to March. But is a good time to see the waterfalls. If want to avoid the crowd of high season, the best time to visit is: from April to May and from August to October.

Program Summary

Day 1 - Salvador > Chapada Diamantina
At 6:30am (subject to change). Transfer from Hotel to bus station. Departure by regular bus to Lençóis. Arrive at 1:30pm. Welcome by local staff and transfer to the hotel. PM: Half day walking tour in Lençóis and Serrano river with bathing at Natural Pools and Primavera waterfall. Night at leisure. 
Overnight: Vila Serrano or similar

Day 2 - Chapada Diamantina
At 08:30am departure for  full day Chapada Highlights with Lunch Box. Leaving Lençóis to Mucugezinho River by minibus, trek to the ‘poço do diabo’ (a black lake); visit the Gruta Azul Cave ; visit to Lapa Doce Cave ( 1 km trek inside the cave); Pratinha Cave , a beautiful subterraine river and lake complex; and Trekking up the Pai Inácio Hill (500mts).  Night at leisure.

Day 3 - Chapada Diamantina
At 08:00am Full day Sossego waterfall with Lunch Box - 02 hours trekking through the canyons of Sossego River, stops for bathing and relax. At the end of our trail is the fantastic Sossego Waterfall, where we will have the lunch box. On the way back stop at Ribeirão do meio for a little bit of fun at the natural slide rock. Night at leisure.

Day 4 - Chapada Diamantina
Early in the morning, transfer by car to Vale do Capão – in the middle of the National Park. Accommodate at Pousada Verde, where we will start a trail up to the mountain's table top area for a hike until the second highest free fall in Brazil: Fumaça Waterfalls - with its 340-meters high. Lunch box included. Return to Pousada and rest of the night free to meet the local community.

Day 5 - Chapada Diamantina > Salvador
Breakfast and departure early in the morning for one of the best trekking in Chapada - the crossing Lençóis to Capão. It is a 24km trail in valleys, canyons, waterfalls and pristine forest. On the way, lunch box. Arrive in Lençóis in the afternoon. You will be taken to a small lodge for bathing and cleaning up. Relax in the lodge until the 23:00 to take the overnight bus to Salvador. Arrive in Salvador at 6:30
