On the south coast of Bahia, about 70 km (43mi.) in the offing, there is an area constituted by coral reefs, volcanic islands, mangroves and tide channel’s, the Abrolhos Area, where the first Brazilian Marine National Park is situated. The Park covers approximately 266 square nautical miles (91.300 ha). The sea turtles known as green (Chelonia mydas) and cabeçuda (Caretta caretta) come for nesting on the beaches of the archipelago. From July to November the Humpback whales ( Megaptera novaeangliae ) come to give birth to their young.

DAY 1 Caravelas
Afternoon arrive in Caravelas and accomodation at the hotel.
Evening at leisure. Overnight.

DAY 2 Caravelas - Abrolhos

After breakfast, transfer to the Caravelas pier to embark on a schooner for a 7-hour cruising to Abrolhos. Lunch on board. Whale watching (July-November) upon arriving in Abrolhos. Dinner and overnight on board. (B,L,D)

DAY 3 Abrolhos

After breakfast, visit the archipelago’s islands. Return to the schooner for lunch. Afternoon diving activities. Dinner and overnight on board. (B,L,D)

DAY 4 Abrolhos - Caravelas

Early morning diving activities followed by cruise back to Caravelas with opportunity for whale watching (July-November). Afternoon arrive in Caravelas and transfer to hotel for farewell dinner and overnight. (B, D)

DAY 5 Caravelas

After breakfast, depart for next destination. (B)

Note: Route and timetable subject to change according to weather conditions. The whale period is between July and November.
