The Pantanal region is one of the world's richest natural reserve and a migratory stopover for ibis, ducks, storks, herons, egrets and many other species. There are over 300 species of birds scientifically identified. The origins of the floodplains probably go back to the time when there was a great inland sea in the South American continent. Consequently, the diversity of vegetation, the rich soil, and the abundance of water attract and sustain an enormous variety of wildlife.

Bonito
is located in south of the Pantanal region. The word Bonito means beautiful in Portuguese and that could not be more appropriate to describe this exotic area, which has most of the region’s rivers spring on top of the Bodoquenas mountain range, with extends for 250 km an altitude between 400 to 600 meters. Calcium carbonate - from which limestone is formed – is the major mineral component in the soil, being responsible for the amazing beauty of out rivers and caves. Hundreds of waterfalls, lakes and rivers offer great diving and snorkeling to observe the wild life, over 80 caverns (dry and flooded, hiking trails).
